We have been profoundly touched by the loss of an American hero.

Russell felt that our country was very important and at a very young age, he and his brothers joined the military during WWII. He was a ship flagman and was serving on USS Greenwood at Iwo Jima. He shared his precious memories with all who would sit and spend time with him. While the home repairs our youth volunteers provided were not complex, the real gift to him was spending time with them and and sharing his story We were privileged to come to know him.
